COVID, Flu, & RSV Cases Are Skyrocketing In Texas

This is always the time of season we see viruses working their way through Texas, but I swear it seems like everyone in the state is sick with something right now.

I can tell you that within the last month, everyone in my family has come down with SOME sort of virus, and I’m not sure anyone has recovered fully from it yet.

Well now we at least have some answers. COVID-19, RSV, and flu cases are skyrocketing at the moment in the state, and it seems like there’s nothing we can do about it…except stay inside.

According to hospitalization reports, in the last week of November, there was a significant rise of people stopping by their local ER for one of these illnesses.

COVID-19 cases rose by nearly 9%, flu cases jumped a whopping 33%, but neither of those held a candle to RSV. Hospital reports show that cases of RSV rolling through the hospitals rose a staggering 42%.

And those are just the ER numbers. When it comes to the amount of cases that resulted in hospitalizations, they almost scarier. COVID-19 saw a rise of 12.5%, and RSV patients were hospitalized 25% more than the previous week.

Whatever this flu strain is has to be a bad one, because there was a jump of over 44% of the flu cases ER’s saw that resulted in hospitalization.

So what’s to blame? Unfortunately, no one is sure. It just seems that the virus season is worse than it has been in previous years. Health officials say getting a flu shot will at least lessen the chances of you catching one of these viruses.

As we all know, there’s really no way to completely avoid it, so think about that flu shot, and take care of yourself if you catch one of these!
